Hey Heman. Thanks for showing such a keen interest in the FC Kowloon Project. Can you tell us a little bit about your origins in music and DJing in Hong Kong and how you started out? 嘿 Heman。感謝您對九龍FC的計劃表現出如此大的興趣。您能告訴我們一些您在香港從事音樂和DJ工作的起源以及您是如何開始的嗎？
Hello! It’s my pleasure to be your guest! My parents ran a store selling toys, stationaries, cassettes, and CDs, therefore I could always access different kinds of music in my childhood, such as Disco, Rock, and Country. Also, I started to learn violin at 6 which also opened my vision in classical music. I think my origins come from the environment I had in childhood. Throughout my music journey, in around 2005, I started into dance music and interested in DJ. Later I was very lucky to meet some veteran DJs in Hong Kong and they shared a lot of skills and knowledge with me, then I started to become a DJ in 2012.

I’ve heard people in the industry here speak fondly of you as someone who has contributed to the fabric of the underground scene here. What have your personal achievements & highlights been so far, and what would you like to achieve in the future? 我聽到這裡的業內人士稱讚您為這裡的地下場景做出了貢獻。到目前為止，您的個人成就和亮點是什麼？
I am flattered to hear that, I think it’s because I started my DJ career earlier than some people in the scene, some of them came to my gig before they started to DJ. There are a few projects I would consider my achievements to share, I was the violin player of a Hong Kong folk-pop group “New Youth Barbershop”, and we had a lot of shows and tours together, it was a wonderful time. Apart from that I was on the founding team of a local DJ venue “Acadana”, which is one of the best sound system DJ venues. A Hong Kong Based Record Label “Neoncity Records”, is a major record label of future funk/ vaporwave, and “Millzik”, a music education platform. In the future. I would like to spend more time in music production and release my work.

What is it that you think gives Hong Kong & Kowloon its uniqueness in the creative arts world? And what should be the next natural development in HKs underground music scene? 您認為港九在創意藝術界的獨特之處是什麼？香港地下音樂界的下一個自然發展應該是什麼？
Hong Kong is a city that combines Eastern and Western cultures, it is a home for a lot of locals and foreigners, in my opinion, its uniqueness comes from the exchange between the two. Jazz in HKs underground scene is getting more awareness and becoming popular, I think music lovers will always naturally explore the world of Jazz including DJs.
香港是一個東西方文化融合的城市，是許多本地人和外國人的家園，在我看來，它的獨特性來自於兩者之間的交流。香港地下音樂界的爵士樂越來越受關注和流行，我認為音樂愛好者總是會自然地探索爵士樂的世界，包括DJ。
