Robin Zweydinger is a German born photographer who spent much of her youth meandering the northern most parts of Kowloon. Having flitted between Germany & Hong Kong in her teen years, Robin decided Hong Kong would be the best place for her to start her career in fashion.
Robin has honed her craft to create some poignant and telling imagery from her adopted home of Hong Kong, as well as from her travels around Asia.
羅賓磨練了自己的技藝,從她的第二故鄉香港以及她在亞洲各地的旅行中創作了一些辛酸而生動的圖像

“I was raised in Germany for most of my childhood, until around the age of 10 when I started to visit Hong Kong regularly. Spending most of my time around Kwai Fong to begin with, I didn’t really enter than expat bubble. After I finished university, I knew I wanted to start my career in fashion in Hong Kong, and it just so happened I gravitated towards Kowloon from the beginning.”

“Growing up, my dad split his time between Germany & Hong Kong. He bought a flat in Kwai Fong and as a result, when I would come over to stay with him, much of my time was spent in this area. Since then, I’ve lived all over Kowloon; Jordan, Tsim Sha Tsui and Hung Hom.”

“My mum gave me a disposable film camera one holiday and that’s my first memory for what kickstarted my love of film.
When I first came to Hong Kong, a first date took me up into a scary hidden building in TST, and even though I had no idea where he was taking me, I went with it and that’s where I found the hidden treasure of HK Camera, which is where I buy all my films and develop my photos.”
